    A fire that broke out over the weekend in the Quakertown subdivision of Livonia has been ruled accidental. Livonia firefighters were called at about 1 p.m. Sunday to a home in the 38000 block of Meeting House Lane, which is located near Six Mile and Haggerty, over the weekend.

    I started this to help out the locals in the downriver area. We benefit so many good causes throughout the year that there really isn't anything for the guys. The money earned can be spent on anything(groceries) or just something they need or having been wanting for their house. Every year, a new local or firehouse will be drawn to receive the proceeds.     Thomas G. Byrne, 51, of Kansas City, MO., passed away February 11, 2017 at Saint Luke's East Hospital. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 2552 Gillham Rd, Kansas City, MO., on Tuesday, Feb 14th from 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

    R.I.P. Brother Bob Scholl  6/12/32 - 2/12/17 Lt. Robert “Bob” Scholl. Bob passed away in his home state of Arizona yesterday, February 12. He was born on June 12, 1932 and was 84 years old. Bob began here with the Hoffman Estates Volunteer Firemen’s Association and began his career as a full-time firefighter on August 8, 1968.
